A greener break space for the workshop

The Workshop Ledger records practical changes in a fictional neighborhood workshop. Our first experiment is a planted break corner where volunteers can take a breath between busy sessions.

Separate the break area from the workbench

Keep refreshments and plants away from tools and dusty work. A clear boundary helps people understand where to relax and where protective equipment belongs.

Choose a simple care routine

Two hardy herbs are enough to begin. Put their care note on the shelf and agree who checks it at the start of a session. Add more plants only when the first routine feels easy.

Watch how the space is used

A chair that faces the window may work better than one facing the corridor. Ask visitors where they feel comfortable, then make one adjustment at a time.
